My name is Justin Beard and I'm currently living out my childhood dream of playing squash on the professional circuit. I grew up in a small town of 1500 people in the Victorian town of Casterton. It was here that I followed my parents to the sports hall and watched them play squash for the first time. Not long after I was able to walk I was on the courts or hitting the tiny black ball up against the inside of our nice white door leaving marks everywhere. A pretty big junior tournament was run not far from Casterton and after playing for 2 years I wanted to find out if I was any good so I was entered and thats where the dream began. Skip forward 15 years and with a current high world ranking of 111 I'm still playing non stop but now I get to travel to some of the nicest places in the world whilst doing so. I'm now living in Adelaide, South Australia and spend 2 months of every year based in Philladelphia where I receive coaching from former world no.1 John White. My dream as a boy was to make world no.1 and whilst that might be out of the picture for the moment, my dream of representing Australia at a Commonwealth or Olympic Games still burns strong.
