My Story
I first started playing Squash in August 2011, just for something to do, as a winter sport for school. I won my first Junior Squash tournament 4 weeks later and went on to become South Australian U/15 Champion in June 2012. In my first National competition, in September 2012, I came 10th in the U/15 age group. In my most recent International tournament, the Oceania Junior Championships, I finished in 3rd place after losing my Semi-Final in 5 games to the No.1 seed, Max Trimble of New Zealand.
My aim for 2014 is to win the Australian Junior Open, being held in Victoria and the Australian Junior Championship which will be contested, in Perth, later in the year. I aspire to represent Australia in one of the Junior International Test Series this year and good performances in the above mentioned tournaments should go a long way to helping me realise this goal.
I am trained and mentored in South Australia by SA State Coach, James Rogers. He has had a huge influence on the technical and tactical side of my game and has been a tremendous help in my mental preparation both before and during matches.
I currently train, on court, 6-8 times a week plus a further 3-4, off court, fitness sessions. I also play Pennant Squash at least once a week, with my main focus on my Premier League team, South Adelaide.
I use Dunlop Biomimetic Elite Racquets, Asics Elite Squash Shoes and Adidas apparrel, I highly recommend these brands for players of any level.
