US based squash player Nyanzi loses in Philadelphia Open

US based squash player Ibrahim Nyanzi loses in Philadelphia OpenUS based squash professional player Ibrahim Nyanzi lost toAdrian Leanza, in the semi-finals of the Philadelphia Open Championship on Sunday.

The Ugandan star fell 11-3,10-12,11-6, 11-3 to the American player who eventually claimed the tournament after beating Yasser Kamal in the final.

In the game itself Nyanzi was slow to get started and he did not look himself during the first game.

Game two saw a very different level of competition as Adrian Leanza and Ibrahim Nyanzi criss-crossed the court in a brilliant game that the Ugandan pulled out with some great shot making.

Leanza, regarded by his peers as one of the fittest players on tour, just kept picking up Nyanzi's shots in games three and four. Nyanzi on several occasions sought to win the point prematurely and hit the tin on several unforced errors.

PST Commissioner Joe McManus is pleased with Ibrahim's progress. "He's a different player now than we saw in Boston several weeks back. I expect he will continue to improve on this tour and get some more quality wins."

However their was consolation for, Nyanzi beating Nathan Ticho 11-6, 5-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-7 in a one hour 13 minute battle to finish third.
