Heading Home from Chicago

02 Mar 2014 | Hits: 268

I just played in the Windy City Open in Chicago.  The last time I was here was in 2010, and it's great to see the event back on the WSA calendar.

The women started playing in Cathedral Hall today, an absolutely beautiful room in the University Club.  I got to do a little commentary which is always hilarious.

Chicago is a wicked City.  The people are hilarious, trendy, and fun.  So I don't fit in at all, but I enjoy being here!!

I played Sarah Kippax in the first round of the qualification.  Lost 3-1.  I enjoy playing her.  I hope to do better next time!!!!

I had some great hits over the last couple days, and now I'm at the airport headed to Toronto, where the Granite Open 25k WSA event will take place starting tomorrow!  I got a wildcard, which shoots me through the qualification and into the main draw to play on Tuesday night against Joey Chan of Hong Kong.  Looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd :)

Bye Chicago!  Hopefully see you next year

Sam
