Nothing better than good clean, healthy food!  One of my many loves in life is to try different foods and experiment with new recipes.  Traveling the world on the squash tour gives me the perfect opportunity to try so many different foods.  I love walking the streets and stumbling across a foreign supermarket that I can get lost in and spend many hours exploring and crossing paths with so many different and strang Read more...

Wearing the “Green and Gold” gives you strength

If there is one thing I wish for my children to experience in their lifetime it would be to represent their country at the Commonwealth Games.

It is something I have worked towards my whole life.  From when I was 8 I just wanted to go to the Commonwealth Games. These are the pinnacle events in any Australian kid’s life and it makes me hugely proud to look in the mirror and see the “Green and Gold”.

altI’m writing this blog from Tonbridge, UK where I am spending a week with Marcus’s sister’s family in-between tournaments.

I left Dublin, Ireland on Sunday the 27th of April, where I had a disappointing first round loss. I’ve been having difficulty writing this blog because it’s difficult to be positive and upbeat particularly when you get knocked out during the first round of an e Read more...

I can’t remember the last time I was in a Premier League Final ... matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been in one. Tuesday the 25th of March was a very exciting night with my team Northern Suburbs Squash Centre (NSSC) becoming the Northside Summer 2013/2014 Premier League Champions.

It was a big night for everyone involved. I was fortunate to have gotten back from Penang just in time for the finals. We played the final against Stafford 1. The individual match ups were:

I have so much to tell you! My life is so busy at the moment with the WSA season in full swing, pennant grand finals (more to come on Grand finals in my next blog), coaching, promoting Club2Athlete and life in general!

I have just been to the Women’s World Championships in Penang! WOW what a great experience it was. My first healthy world champs since the 2009 event in Amsterdam.

Traveling to Penang was relatively easy considering its only a short 8 hour journey from Australia. I was lucky to have 3 seats to myself over and back so Read more...

Sunday was the final day of the Malaysian Tour Squash Circuit No.1 and unfortunately I was not in the final.

This tournament has been a little disappointing for me performance wise loosing to Eun Chan Ahn from Korea in the quarterfinals. Eun and I have played each other 3 times in the past 3 months. I had beaten Eun the past 3 times we played but I take my hat off to her as she played really well. I had a chat with Eun after our match and she has had a lot of changes in her squash recently moving to Malaysia with a huge advantage training on these courts in advan Read more...

Hi everyone,  Im writing this blog from my hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.  I am here for a tournament that kicks off tomorrow afternoon.

I thought I'd write a blog on nutrition.  I've learnt a lot on the subjet recently having to loose some weight after my injury.  I think most people get confused on what to eat and when to eat it.  You may think your eating healthy foods but just consuming way too many calories?!  If this sounds like you then read on.  If you have any questions, great advice or just want to drop me a comment please do so.

I'm not sure everyone is aware of what I do away from squash.  You may know of Club2Athlete but just unclear how I am connected to the company.  I have had people ask me who are you working for?  Well Club2Athlete is my very own brain child.  Club2Athlete is currently a team of 2 myself and Anthony Tully.  Anthony and I met back in 2010 when I was wanting my very own personal website, Anthony creates websites and I was put in contact with him through Kerri Pottharst.

altProtein shakes are the best way to get an after workout meal in or maybe a half shake (half the ingredients below) to tie you over.  I often get real hungry around 4pm, after my 2nd training session of the day, its a little early for dinner and a half shake is perfect to stop me from snacking on fruit and nuts and other high fat foods.

“He’s/She's a born athlete,” is a phrase used amongst commentators and spectators, but what does it actually mean?  It is true some people develop a natural physic better equipped for certain sports, but if you don’t dedicate yourself to your training you will only ever go so far.  You need to have that inner drive and passion for your sport.

I fell in love with Squash at a very early age but it was only in my late 20's that I finally understood why I loved this sport so much.  As a junior being Read more...

It’s the start of a new year and I finished 2013 on a high by winning my last 3 Women’s Squash Association (WSA) events. This has definitely given me a good platform to start 2014!

It's been 2 months since I started my summer training and things are going as well as expected. I have been training hard, I’m feeling fit and the mind is getting ready for my next tournament, the Australia Day Challenge, starting on the 24th of January 2014 in Ipswich.

Christmas has come and gone and we are now getting back into the routine of work for some and training for others. Each day comes and goes by so quickly, so I believe you need to make sure your days are filled with activities that are working up towards your goal or your dream. What ever that dream may be; a holiday, writing a book, becoming a healthier you, or just being happy inside and out. I believe everyone needs to have goals that you’re working towards and just tapping away with positive steps toward achieving it!

Hi Everyone,

Here is the recipe to the famous Maltese Bread pudding.  I made it for the first time at Christmas time and it was a huge success.  Everyone enjoyed it and it was just like the mumma makes!

I hope you all enjoy it and please leave me a comment if you have any great recipes or comments on things.

I had written this blog some time ago and just forgot to post it.  So its a little old news but here it is, better late than ever.

Hmmm…Where to start?  What’s been going on with me? Well since NSW Open and my rolled foot injury, I haven’t felt like there was anything exciting to write about.  When all your plans get thrown out the window, uncertainty makes it hard to plan anything, and as someone who loves a well thought out plan, I found myself a bit lost and frustrated for a few weeks. I’ve slowly gone about my business, tr Read more...
